The CGO Role

FlexClub is looking for an ambitious, experienced and values-driven CGO to join our team!  As CGO at FlexClub, you will be responsible for optimizing all of our acquisition channels, conversion strategies and retention tactics.  The CGO is a crucial member of the company’s leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.  In this position, you will manage and control all of the functions that drive growth across all of our geographies.  We expect you to be an inspiring leader that is obsessed with building teams that get things done, while never operating with an “ivory tower” mindset. You lead from the front and never hesitate to get into the details when needed, while always keeping a firm grasp of the bigger picture. 

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan and implement acquisition, conversion and retention strategies, processes and procedures, including Branding, Lead Generation, Digital and Traditional Marketing, CRM, Business Development and Sales
  • Set comprehensive goals and oversee daily operations for the company’s business streams and growth teams in all geographies 
  • Analyze, interpret and summarise all the marketing numbers with simple reporting
  • Drive an experimental approach to marketing and growth; quickly doubling down on any initiatives that are working and scaling them across the company
  • Drive strategic planning with the company’s leadership team and regularly report back on the growth function’s performance 
  • Manage, budget and be accountable for the quarterly investments in growth-based initiatives
  • Establish policies and procedures that promote company culture and vision

 Requirements & Skills

  • Experienced leader with executive management and communication skills that aligns to FlexClub’s core values
  • Proven track record of managing growth and marketing teams in large, matrixed organizations
  • 10+ years experience in a combination of strategy, marketing, growth, analytics, finance, program/project management, or consulting
  • Extensive experience working directly with executive leadership and steering executive alignment across multiple business units
  • Ability to build, motivate and lead large cross-functional teams by example, even when challenges are extremely complex and solutions are unclear
  • Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple large initiatives concurrently across cross-functional teams (Acquisition, Conversion, Retention and more)
  • Expert in performance marketing management and optimization
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and KPIs
  • Excellent and candid communicator in written and verbal form
  • Highly motivated, execution-focused, with a positive and resilient attitude.
  • Team player - this is a highly collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Be a motivator for other teams and carry the ability to inspire the operational organisation (will carry the responsibility of managing the largest team in the company)
  • Experience scaling a company from <50 employees to over 200 employees
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Startup experience and deep B2C experience will be a plus
