FlexClub is a car subscription marketplace offering members the most flexible way to shop for cars. Members can choose from a wide selection of offers from our vehicle partners, such as Avis, Barloworld, Europcar and Motus. Our members enjoy the convenience of an all-inclusive monthly fee for their car, which means no need to worry about insurance or maintenance. Car subscriptions offer maximum flexibility, allowing members to return, swap or buy their car at any time. 
Who is FlexClub for?
FlexClub is for anyone who wants to avoid the hassle and risks of buying a car using traditional vehicle financing. We are ushering in a more flexible and convenient car shopping experience for digitally-savvy customers in markets like South Africa and Mexico.
Which cities does FlexClub operate in?
FlexClub is currently available in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town in South Africa; and Guadalajara in Mexico.

What is a car subscription?
A car subscription provides flexible long-term access to cars through one all-inclusive monthly fee. The single monthly fee is comparable to the monthly cost of combining the vehicle financing, insurance, maintenance plan and vehicle tracking. The key differences with car subscriptions are that there are no multi-year commitments, no large upfront deposits and no obligations to make balloon payments at the end. Members always have the freedom to return, swap or buy the car at any time. Car subscriptions are best suited to customers who don’t intend to keep the same car for more than 6 years.

2. How does FlexClub work?

Which documents do I need to apply to become a Member?
We offer car subscriptions to individuals over 18 years old. You will need:
- Valid driving licence
- Valid ID/ Passport
- Recent proof of address
How do I get started?

I do not have a South African smart ID card
You can use your passport or green ID book. If you are not taking a picture using your phone, please ensure it is uploaded in jpeg format. Where the back image of the ID is requested, you can upload the front image again.
I'm struggling to verify my identity. What should I do?
Follow the prompts to verify your identity either on your mobile phone or desktop. Ensure that you rotate your head slowly, while the green ring fills up. Please note that you will not be able to register if your documents are not uploaded in the correct format.
I have a foreign bank account, can you still assist?
Yes, we are indeed also able to assist international members. Please reach out to support@joinflexclub.com if you get stuck at the affordability verification step.
How does FlexClub evaluate eligibility? Which cars can I afford?
The affordability verification is predominantly based on the ratio of monthly income to the subscription fee. Other factors such as available balance are also taken into account. As a guideline, we recommend spending less than 30% of your monthly income on your subscription.
How does FlexClub work with car rental companies?
On the FlexClub marketpalce, we have a range of partners offering car subscriptions to members. Some of our partners are car rental companies who choose to work with FlexClub to help improve the digital experience of their car subscription offers.

3. Vehicle selection

What vehicle options do you offer?
Each of our partners offers a variety of vehicle makes and models on our marketplace. The selection of vehicles is continuously being updated and you are welcome to submit suggestions for models not available on the marketplace.
Can I choose the colour of my vehicle?
Cars on the marketplace typically have the highest availability in white or silver. You are welcome to communicate your preferences and our partners will do the best they can to accommodate, but no guarantees on colour are possible.
Is there a mileage limit?
The mileage limits will vary depending on the offer you select. Please see details of the available mileage bundles on the subscription offer page for your selected vehicle.
What mileage are the cars delivered with?
All cars typically have a mileage of less than 10,000km, unless indicated differently on the marketplace.
Are there products available with more than 3000km per month?
At present, 3,000km per month is the highest mileage bundle available.
Is maintenance and insurance covered by my car subscription?
All car subscriptions are fully-inclusive, meaning there is no need to purchase separate insurance or maintenance plans. In the event of an accident, a liability may be due, which is similar to an excess associated with most insurance products. Any repairs due to negligence or wear & tear not deemed to be regular will be billed as an additional charge.
Does unused mileage carry over to the next month?
This is dependent on the partner, but most offers on the marketplace include the ability to rollover unused mileage each month.
How often can I swap cars?

One of the major benefits of subscribing to a car is that you can change your car at any time. Want to spend your next month in an SUV to make the upcoming road trip more comfortable... no problem! Simply contact our Member Success Representatives to help arrange the change.

What is the penalty if I scratch or dent the car?
If the scratches or dents are outside of the acceptable limits, members will be billed a nominal fee for the repair as the cost is likely to be below the liability threshold for accidents.

4. Payments

How do payments for my vehicle subscription work?
Payments are charged to the debit/credit card we have on file, with charges runnning on the same day each month. Arrangements can be made to process payments via EFT.
When do I make payment for the first month?
All subscriptions are paid for in advance. This means the car cannnot be delivered until the first subscription payment has been successfully processed.
What happens to traffic fines and tolls?
All traffic fines and tolls are automatically added to your account and will be clearly displayed on your account statement. All vehicles have a pre-installed e-toll tag, meaning toll charges linked to your car will automatically be added to your account.
How can I end my subscription?
To end your subscription, simply contact one of our Member Success Representatives informing them of when you would like to return your vehicle. We recommend doing so at least 5 working days beforehand to ensure the provider is ready to receive your vehicle.
If I decide to buy the car, what will be the purchase price?
Estimates of the purchase price of the vehicle are provided on your dashboard. When buying the car, any relevant rewards earned can be offset against the purchase price of the car. The final purchase price of the car will be confirmed with the Vehicle Partner if you click "buy car".
What is the process if I decide to buy the car?
Simply click "Buy Car" on your dashboard when logged into your profile. One of our Member Representatives will initiate the paperwork with the Vehicle Partner with which you are subscribed. A final purchase price will be communicated via email. At this point, you can elect whether to use any of the applicable rewards you may have earned to further discount the purchase price. Once payment has been made to the detailed bank account, the Vehicle Partner will initiate the vehicle registration process.
What's not included in my monthly subscription fee?

Your monthly FlexClub subscription fee includes the cost of your vehicle, insurance, maintenance as well as vehicle tracking. The following charges aren't included in your monthly subscription fee: 

  • Fuel
  • Toll fees
  • Traffic fines
  • Additional drivers
  • Damages
  • Cleaning fees
  • Extra mileage

5. Vehicle delivery

Does my car have to be delivered to home?
We can deliver your car to your work or home address. You can also request to collect the car from one of our partner locations.
How do I change my selected delivery address?
You will need to notify us of any changes at least 48 hours prior to the delivery of your vehicle. You can notify us by contacting support@joinflexclub.com or sending a message on Whatsapp to +27 60 070 2314.
Why do I need to sign a contract with the provider of the vehicle?
All subscriptions on the FlexClub marketplace are provided by a wide range of partners. Your subscription agreement will always be with the partner providing the vehicle to you.
If I change my delivery date, will this affect my billing date?
The amount charged to your card in the first month will be the full monthly subscription amount. Changing the delivery date will only affect the day of the month the charges are processed moving forward.
Which areas can the car be delivered to?
We arrange delivery in most areas within the cities available on our marketplace. If in doubt, you're welcome to reach out to support@joinflexclub.com.
How do I schedule car delivery?
The vehicle delivery step is covered during your checkout process. You will be prompted to provide a delivery address and preferred date/time for the delivery.
Can I reschedule my delivery?
You are welcome to cancel and reschedule your vehicle delivery up to 24 hours before the selected date by emailing support@joinflexclub.com. Late cancellations may incur an additional charge.

6. During your subscription

How often will my car be automatically swapped for a newer model?
This depends on the terms of the auto-swap window from the provider. Most vehicles will automatically be swapped within 11 months of the subscription start date, or when the vehicle has reached the maximum mileage threshold (typically 30,000km).
Is it possible to return a car in the middle of the month?
You may return the car at any time but you will forfeit any unused days already paid for in that billing cycle. 
Why do I need to share my monthly mileage?
All subscriptions include specific mileage bundles. Any mileage travelled beyond your selected bundle will be billed separately. In an effort to confirm the accuracy of the mileage reading and ensure you are billed correctly, each month we ask members to confirm their mileage.
What if I decide to order a second additional car?
If you would like to add another car to your existing subscription, please reach out to support@joinflexclub.com
Is there an extra cost for additional drivers on my account?
This depends on the provider with which you are subscribed, but most offers on the marketplace include at least 2 additional drivers.
What is the excess or liability due in the event of an accident?
The liability charge due will depend on the offer you've selected. Please review the amount listed on the offer page or in your subscription agreement for confirmation.
Are there any penalties for cancelling my subscription?
We offer total flexibility, meaning no penalties if you decide to stop your subscription.
Can I pause my subscription temporarily if I am travelling outside the country with plans to restart when I return?
Absolutely! You're welcome to pause your subscription, as long as the vehicle is returned to the Vehicle Partner. Once you're ready for us to deliver another car again, simply inform one of our member representatives. Importantly, the car will not be the exact same car you returned.
What is the process when the car needs a service?
In most cases, you will receive a notification informing you when the car is due for service. Depending on the Vehicle Partner, they may elect to swap your car for a newer model at that point. If however the vehicle is not swapped, the notification will include information on how we will facilitate the service to ensure it is as convenient as possible.

7. Connecting bank statements

Does my bank allow me to digitally share my bank statement?
At the moment, only members who bank with either ABSA, Capitec, FNB, Nedbank or Standard Bank are able to digitally link their bank statements. For members not banking with either of those, the option for manual bank statement uploads is available.
What is the difference between linking my bank statements digitally versus uploading manually?
By linking bank statements digitally, we can confirm the authenticity of the bank statements. This means that the approval time when ordering your car is much faster. This is also the most secure way to share sensitive financial information.

For those uploading bank statements manually, your application review may take up to 5 working days.
How do I upload multiple bank statements?
Should you need to manually upload bank statements, you can do so by navigating to 'Link Bank Statements', and selecting 'Upload File". Please ensure that you upload all 3 months bank statements (either as individual files, or at one go)
Does linking my bank statements provide FlexClub with the ability to make payments from my account?
Absolutely not, your bank simply provides us with the ability to view your bank statements. No transactions can be initiated while we view these statements.
Is it safe to link my bank statements?
Yes, in fact it's the most secure way of sharing sensitive financial information like bank statements and guarantees that the data was not manipulated in any way.

Importantly, we cannot see any of your bank login credentials as you are redirected to your bank login when consenting to our viewing access. The viewing access provided to us relies on the most sophisticated encryption and security protocols.

Your consent for us to view the account can also be revoked at any time, though may impact your ability to continue subscribing for a car.
Do you store data from my bank statements?
Yes, the bank statement data is stored alongside other data such as your full name, email, identity number. All data shared with FlexClub is protected by the strongest encryption and security protocols.
Is my data shared with any 3rd parties?
Your personal bank statement data will never be shared with 3rd parties at any point. We take security incredibly seriously and ensure that all data is stored in a secure database that is only accessible via multiple security layers to prevent unauthorised access.
Can I disconnect the digital link to my bank statements?
Yes, you can disconnect our viewing access to your bank statements at any time. Please note that disconnecting our ability to view the bank statements may impact your ability to continue with your subscription.
